Shaking Hands with the Enemy

Predictably, the wingnutosphere is going crazy over the photo of President Obama shaking hands with Hugo Chavez. Malkin:

I can’t stand to look at our president’s dumb grin as he warmly greets Venezuela’s thug-in-chief.

Say, Malkin, AmericaBlog posted a series of similar photos. We’d love to hear your informed take on those. But meanwhile, I’d like to focus on this one:

When this photograph of President Ford and Leonid Brezhnev was taken, the Soviet Union had approximately 19,000 nuclear warheads aimed at the United States and our western allies. Hugo Chavez, on the other hand, has zero weapons of any kind aimed at the United States. But perhaps we should continue to antagonize him until he buys a few from China. Sound good? Gimme a “B”! Gimme an “O”! Gimme an “O”! Gimme an “M”! What’s that spell?!
