WASHINGTON — Contrary to White House wishes, Attorney General Eric Holder may push forward with a criminal investigation into the Bush administration’s harsh interrogation practices used on suspected terrorists.
And I’ve concluded that the president has to take a contrary posture. The reality is that there are political considerations to everything. But the Justice Department has to do it. This way, the Obama administration is investigating war crimes while having a political out. Smart.
