Predictably, the Morning Joe crew were just trying to pass off the idea that there’s violence and incendiary language “on both sides.” Mika seemed desperate to find “balance” while reporting on Norman Leboon’s YouTube threat against Eric Cantor.
Okay, then, prove it. Show me a 1:1 list of violence and racism from both the left and the right. If there isn’t equal measures of both, then there is no balance. None.
I can show you dozens of incidents on the right for every one incident on the left (I’m being generous). Find me an A-list politician on the left who is referring to Republicans using firearms lingo, as Sarah Palin has. Find me groups of protesters on the left who are waving racist banners, or carrying signs threatening gun violence. Find me someone on the left who has violently lashed out.
It turns out, Laboon has also threatened President Obama and Speaker Pelosi. According to TPM:
In one video he addresses President Obama, Vice President Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid by name and says, “Your punishment is coming, the swine, it will be severe, and you will beg for mercy to your god, it will be severe, you will know god’s swine, god has warned you.”
So this guy isn’t “left” or “right.” He’s a freak. Death threats against politicians can occur for a variety of reasons outside of the ridiculous cable news left/right prism.
But I suppose if Morning Joe were to ever just admit that Laboon is a freak, they’d have to somehow dig up threats from non-freaks. You know, for balance.
