There was a time in America when we — all of us — were embarrassed and humiliated by the HUAC hearings and Joe McCarthy.

But somehow something changed, and it’s become permissible for the Republicans and talkers like Glenn Beck to go Full McCarthy — conducting a witch hunt to smoke out “commies.”
