Doof Quote of the Day

“I love that smell of the emissions.” Sarah Palin while riding on the back of a motorcycle in Washington, DC

Most people who dig motorcycling talk about the freedom of the open road, the wind in their hair and the versatility of traveling on two wheels. Palin, on the other hand, loves the exhaust fumes — the aspect of riding that no one else likes. At all. In fact, the exhaust fumes are the most objectionable aspect of any motor vehicle, other than, you know, crashing. But okay. We know why she said that. To snark at liberals and environmentalists. Sarah Palin has this unique ability to be ditzy while also snarking at liberals. All at once.

Adding… Just like always, Palin injects chaos into everything she touches.

You know that was exactly what she was doing. Noone, and I mean NOONE calls exhaust fumes “the emissions” out of the context of speaking on their effects on the environment. She said what she thought a bunch of conservatives (because y’know, liberals are to pussy to ride motorcycles, right?) wanted to hear.

    She is SUCH a jerk.

I love the smell of Harley emissions in the morning…. The smell, you know that gasoline smell? Smelled like victory.
    Someday this campaign’s gonna end.

It’s really a rather remarkable study in the ego’s ability to hijack limited resources. So dominant is the need to look impressive, through the use of “BIG”words, that it overwhelms that RAM like Outlook running on a 386.

Sure, there’s all sorts of layers of intent and danger but there is some truly powerful humor here being tragically blunted by the fact that so many continue to think that 6 foot mouse with huge ears is real!

That’s the scary part…. that’s what keep us from laughing appropriately. Because seriously, this is pee yourself in mid-sentence because one is thinking so hard, funny.

    her quote explains a LOT…haha

    • Lexamich

Yeah, she must’ve been breathing in a heavy amount of fumes when she quit her elected position and claimed she was merely “reloading.”

Wow. Sarah Palin is like a child. I remember as a kid, before I knew how dangerous exhaust fumes were and before they gave me headaches, I liked the smell. But I was a 5 year-old kid watching my dad leave for work, not a 47 year-old woman, who may run for President.

This whole snarking at environmentalist thing is just so beyond me. This with Sarah, wingnuts who brag about their carbon foot-print, or those who say they want the chemicals in their food.. I mean it’s just beyond me.

Despite the somewhat suspicious verbiage, I don’t see it so much as snarking libs as kissing up to oil companies, something she, being a (former) Alaskan pol, is particularly well-versed in.

You have to remember, this is a woman that impulsively states whatever’s floating around in her head. I do not believe she’s that calculated in her snark The times she’s chosen to truly be snarky, it has always been a sloppy affair that hurts her publicly more than anyone else.

    • JackDaniel07

I agree. I think it smelled like exhaust at that exact moment when she got asked a question, so she talked about exhaust fumes. Had she been 50 yards to her left, we’d have gotten a rant about funnel cake vendors or some shit

So if it had been at night, would she have said she loves the smell of nocturnal emissions?

The ink on her hand, which read “exhaust”, smudged and she read it as “emissions”.

Palin’s arrival — she showed up clad in black jeans, a leather jacket and a Harley Davidson helmet

    Very presidential.

also, her jowls are showing. (image from TPM)

Ditzy and snarky in the same short sentence. And probably delivered in that glass-cracking voice.

Sarah is the gift that keeps on giving.
