[Maine state Rep. Frederick Ladd] Wintle was in the parking lot of a Dunkin Donuts in Waterville, Maine, talking to Morning Sentinel Michael Seamans about a 12-week-old baby that died earlier in the week at the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter. Wintle said he was looking for the baby’s mother’s drug dealer, then pulled a .22 caliber gun out of his waistband and waved it in Seamans’ face at point-blank range.

(1) Is it normal in Maine for a state representative to investigate a death, rather than leaving that job for the police?

(2) Where the frak did this human carbuncle get the idea that the mother of the dead baby had a drug dealer? The mother was in a homeless shelter, not a halfway house.

(3) What did he think (maybe I’ve discovered the problem right there) he was going to accomplish by waving a gun around at a photographer?

I miss reasonable Republicans.
