Stupid Palin Thing of the Day

Sarah Palin continued to butcher history on Fox News Sunday.

“You realize that you messed up about Paul Revere, don’t you?” “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace asked the potential 2012 presidential candidate.

“I didn’t mess up about Paul Revere,” replied Palin, a paid contributor to the network.

“Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not going to beat our own well-armed persons, individual, private militia that we have,” she added. “He did warn the British.”

First of all, everyone in the colonies were British in 1775. Americans were British citizens. Doy.

Secondly, the ride was clandestine. He didn’t really shout, “The British are coming!” (Again, everyone was British.) But maybe she meant British troops, but Revere didn’t try to warn British troops about anything, either. He was trying to avoid British soldiers. Why? It would be ridiculous to ride up to soldiers to warn them about something (guns, bells?) while also attempting to disseminate crucial information to patriots about the movements of British troops.

Third, Sarah Palin isn’t embarrassed by any of this and she really ought to be.

Adding… There’s a war on Wikipedia about this. Oy.

And what was with the hand gestures? Some sort of method of distract people so perhaps they won’t realize the bullshit coming out of her mouth?

If we have to parse whatever it is Sarah Palin was supposed to have meant in such an off-the-cuff reply to a not-very-gotcha! question like “What have you seen so far today [in Boston], and what are you going to take away from your visit?”…

…Just think how the problem grows exponentially if Howard Dean is right, and she DOES win the Republican nomination (that is, if they knuckle under to her), and then beats Barack Obama, whose record isn’t even close to being as dismal as Repubs imply…

…or as bad as it will surely be under President Palin, who knows very little without being propped up by thousands of aides.

She is so intellectually challenged, I almost feel embarassed for her…NAH! Her supporters must be equally as stupid.

I agree, people are focusing on the wrong thing. Find me a coherent thought, let alone sentence, in that mess of a statement. That’s the issue.

I’ve given answers like that… it’s usually when I am trying to answer something I know nothing about. I’m bullshitting, making it up as i go and hoping nobody calls me on my shit.

The other thing that is very interesting is that when asked questions out in public she spurts and stutters like an old lawnmower. When she’s on fox news she does manage to put a couple of sentences together. She’s got the notes on her lap, you can see her glancing down at them at times in yesterday’s interview, so you know she’s got prepared answers to prepared questions. which makes perfect sense… she’s being interviewed by a co-worker. What is the difference between chris wallace interviewing palin and david gregory interviewing chuck todd? Nothing at all…

Oh well, she got what she wanted…all the attention and none of the responsibility. that sums up sarah palin as far as I’m concerned

I always remembered his cry; The Redcoats are coming!

The nuns were very good at drilling these things into our little Catholic brains.
