No More Socialism!

Except for Rick Perry.

At a time when state budget reductions were used to help offset a multibillion-dollar revenue shortfall, taxpayers were billed in excess of $294,000 in security detail expenses for out-of-state trips by Gov. Rick Perry or his wife, according to records released by the Department of Public Safety.

Destinations included the Bahamas in January for a family vacation and trips to Amsterdam, Madrid and New York by Anita Perry alone – visits that Perry spokeswoman Allison Castle said were for economic development.

Perry traveled to locales including New York, Washington, California and Las Vegas for events such as promotion of his anti-Washington book, Fed Up!, speeches, duties related to his then-chairmanship of the Republican Governors Association and meetings with business leaders or potential supporters for his presidential bid.

Rick Perry is Fed Up! — with this sweet, socialist taxpayer money subsidizing his family adventures and his book tour where in he plays the role of doomsayer about big government spending.

You can’t make this shit up.

And to be clear, the issue here is not the costs of his travel. It’s the fact that he’s simultaneously campaigning against big government socialism while incurring those costs.

No, I’m sorry, but fuck that. He used taxpayer dollars to pay for private trips. That’s theft. He should be arraigned. You’re right in that it doesn’t matter *how much* the trips cost—it’s the fact that he stole taxpayer dollars in the first place.

Can we shove this in the face of the next douche who calls one of Obama’s trade missions a “vacation”?

I’d also like someone to point out how many vacation days GW Bush took during his time in the presidency when some douche complains about how much time Obama spends on vacation.

Hint: GW Bush spent more time on vacation than any other president in our history.

      • JMAshby

Bush spent literally 1/3rd of his presidency on vacation. Over 1000 days.

Part of those vacation days were spent ignoring the CIA PDB “Bin Laden to Attack in U.S.” which the Crawford Dauphin was shown on Aug. 6, 2001, a month before 9/11. His reaction to the CIA informing him the U.S. is going to be attacked? “Okay, you’ve covered your ass.” Apparently this kind of rank and offensive negligence was not considered an impeachable offense — unless you’re a Democrat, of course.

I always point out how many days vacation Pres. Obama has taken equals 61. But the problem is that few people bother to point out that Pres. Obama has taken so few vacation days at this point when Pres Bush had taken 184 by this time in his term.

And you certainly can’t count on the shills and lapdogs and knee benders in what passes for the media to say anything.

Pres. Obama stays in the WH longer than George W. stayed at any given time, especially considering that George W. spent:
        - 490 days at his pretend ranch in Crawford, TX ( 77 visits to Crawford which includes all of August before Sept 11. )
        - 487 days at Camp David
        - Visits to parents’ home In Kennebunkport, Maine: totaling all or part of 43 days (11 visits)

        - Equals: 32% of his total time in office

And don’t forget that he spent August playing air guitar, eating birthday cake with John McCain while standing in the middle of a runway for a photo-op and best of all clearing brush while 1,600 American citizens dies during huricain Katrina.

Ronald Reagan made 43 visits to his ranch as president, totaling all or part of 349 days – 2 weeks and 2 days short of a year. Bill Clinton took the least time off — 28 days.

        Now let us compare:
So far, Pres. Obama has taken:
        - 61 vacation days after 32 months in office
        - 48 days at Camp David

        Equals
        - 2.94 years

So far, Pres. Obama has taken:
        - 61 vacation days after 31 months in office
        - 48 days at Camp David

At this point in their presidencies (32 months), George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch. Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch.

Among recent presidents, Bill Clinton took the least time off — 28 days.

    DUMB ASS!

How The Federal Government Forces Some People To Accept Money They Most Assuredly Would Not Take, Because Once The Government Has It Grip On You In That Way, There’s No Loosening Its Grip. See, Because I Really Did Want To Turn Down Those Subsidies Accrued By My Strong Leadership, But You Know How These Things Go. I Promise I Won’t Do It Again As Your President. Oh, Yeah, I Forgot, I Lost In 2012, And The Media (Lamestream, By The Way) Is Too Busy Kissing Both Bob McDonnell’s and Mitch Daniels’s Asses Now To Care That I Still Would Like To Run The Country…As President, Of Course. Not That I Would Not Accept The Title Of, Say, Grand Poobah If The American People Were So Inclined To Give Me That Title. Now I Called It, So If Some Other Guy Gets To Be President, And They Deem To Call Themselves That, I Get Automatic Credit. Social Security Is Still A Ponzi Scheme, too. I Mean “Too.” Hell, Them Media Guys Kissed My Ass Like That Back In 2011.

What’s the big deal? That’s hardly enough to “feed a family” for a year, after all….

Economic development in Amsterdam? For what, the legalization of marijuana?

I can’t believe this shit is real.
