Majority of Americans See Republican Sabotage

Greg Sergeant reports on the latest Washington Post poll:

But the new Post poll finds that independents and moderates essentially accept Obama’s diagnosis of what’s going on — majorities of both groups agree that Republicans are blocking Obama’s good faith efforts to fix the economy for political reasons.

[...] “President Obama is making a good faith effort to deal with the country’s economic problems, but the Republicans in Congress are playing politics by blocking his proposals and programs.” Or this: “President Obama has not provided leadership on the economy, and he is just blaming the Republicans in Congress as an excuse for not doing his job.”

The toplines: Americans agree with the first statement over the second one, 50-44. According to numbers sent my way by the Post polling team, this is more pronounced among moderates and independents:

* Independents favor statement one over statement two by 54-40.

* Moderates favor statement one over statement two by 57-37.

I can’t think of a bigger atrocity perpetrated against the American people since, say, the selling of the Iraq war. Sadly, while a majority of Americans know it’s going on, no one wants to do anything about it.

    Criminal cynicism.

I have a plan to deal with the GOP.

    It’s called prison.

I predict the number of people who agree that willful sabotage is taking place will increase by 10 to 15 points between now and next October.

Right now, people have an idea. But after another year passes, and the Republicans still haven’t done jack shit about jobs (and you know they wont) it will become increasingly obvious.

And that point it might not matter if people think its intentional, or if congress just sucks ass at their job. The outcome will be the same either way.

What are the 44% who disagree thinking? How silly of me – thinking. What a fool am I.

The tea party republics are so far behind the curve on the question of congressional sabotage. And as the tea party republic’s favorite, Herman Cain implodes into an infinitesimally small point of recrimination, narcissism, and cynicism, it becomes clear that the tea party republics in congress will implode into an infinitesimally small black hole while President’s Obama’s brilliant blue-white political star outshines all the blood money that the Koch Roaches and their ilk will put into the 2012 election in an attempt to defeat the democratic party.

It isn’t over till it’s over. This is just the tip of the democratic iceberg that the tea party republics will crash into and sink on election day in November 2012.

Sadly, while a majority of Americans know what’s going on, nobody wants to do anything about it.

Call me naive but I think most Americans are waiting till Election Day 2012 to do something about it. As Ashby says above, this will only be more obvious by then.

      I would hope so.

But I suspect many who know that the GOP is sabotaging the economy will still vote for them anyway because Obama is a foreigner who wants to impose Shariah law and make gay marriage mandatory

I don’t know what else you would call this other than “treason.”
