Another 'Right-Wing Extremism' Freakout

The far-right media got its hands on another DHS report advising state and local law enforcement about the militant activities of right-wing militia groups. Naturally the report has validity since these are extremist, terrorist groups that have a proven track record of acting out with violence.

But the far-right insists the DHS report, titled Domestic Terrorism and Homegrown Violent Extremism Lexicon, will target right-wing activists and, presumably, bloggers who oppose the government.

A guy at Pajamas Media writes that the report targets anyone who might “oppose federal regulations and support the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and though you don’t actually belong to a militia, you can still be branded a “militia extremist” by your own government.”

Paranoid nonsense.

If the right-wing had a clue it would take a look at the terrorism and violence carried out by its most extreme members and applaud such actions by the DHS — especially given all of the anti-terrorism kneejerk police state militarism it endorse for the entire Bush administration. Whoops — I forgot. Their saber rattling only applied to non-Christian brown people. Christian white people who happen to be terrorists don’t count as actual terrorists.

This has got to be one of the biggest blind spots conservatives have. I am always flummoxed by their refusal to label Timothy McVeigh as a terrorist and some go so far as to even reject that he was a conservative! Talk about having your own set of facts! Geez…..

Remember that Left wing Kook who tried to bomb Spokanes MLK Jr day parade ?? ya me neither…….

the Medias complicit ignoring of this RIGHT WING TERRORIST made me really mad, I think it got less than 2 minutes of play on all the networks combined (w/ the exception of Rachel Maddow, who was the only Journalist to give it a whirl).

Isn’t she always the only journalist to actually engage in journalism on these kinds of topics?

Think the right will ever admit that the single largest perpetrator of any form of terrorism on U.S. soil was in fact the right-wing Klan?

All Good Conservatives [and that's "good" as in "red-white-n-blue-carry-a-pocket-size-constitution-AmericaFUCKYEAH", not as in "opposite of evil"] know that the KKK was a Democrat Party creation.

Because Nathan Bedford Forrest was almost as Liberal as the Kenyan Islamunofascist occupying the WHITE House.

      And also too. Robert Byrd.

There it is, cunningly hidden on page 1:

I&A [Office of Intelligence and Analysis] developed this lexicon to standardize the terms used in DHS products related to domestic terrorism and homegrown violent extremism.

Domestic terrorism and homegrown violent extremism. Not Righty bloggers or gun-worshipers.

Reading comprehension isn’t those people’s strong suit, is it?
