Scientists Were Shut Out Of Climate Change Discussions On Sunday Shows. Our study finds that the Sunday shows consulted political and media figures on climate change, but left scientists out of the discussion. Of those hosted or interviewed on climate change, 50% were political figures — including elected officials, strategists and advisers — 45% were media figures, and none were scientists. By comparison, 32% of those interviewed or quoted on the nightly news programs were political figures, and 20% were scientists.

Almost Every Mention Of Climate Change Was About Politics. Our results show that on the Sunday shows, 97% of stories mentioning climate change in the past three years were about politics in Washington, DC or on the campaign trail. One story — on Fox News Sunday — was driven by extreme weather, and none were driven by scientific findings.

Brought to you by the very serious “liberal media.” Turning catastrophe into a horse race.

Our political dialectic cannot allow science, because science is about facts instead of politics.

I think it is time someone out there does (at least) a weekly piece on a scientist – “Get to your your Scientists”. One thing is that people can name politicians, news people, celebs, athletes, etc…but a few people know DeGrasse-Tyson and Hawking, but besides that, the only scientist they know are all dead

    Makes perfect sense.

I am not remotely surprised by this at all. The “liberal” media has been a laughing stock on global warning for far too long. Wasn’t it just a year or so ago when gads of sea life was washing up on shores and it made the news? I remember thinking that we would finally hear some scientists or climatologists brought forth to give their opinions. Imagine my surprise when instead of scientists, I got to see the likes of Kirk Cameron and Tim LaHaye brought forth instead to screech their End of Days screeds, while being respectfully deferred to by the likes of Anderson Cooper as though they were The Grand High Poobahs conveying a piece of irrefutable truth-telling to the world. No scientists or climatologists, but a failed former teen heart-throb turned anti-gay zealot and an author of criminally awful Christian End of Days potboilers get to spout their factually challenged babble…Walter Cronkite must be spinning in his grave.
