White House Correspondents Dinner Speech

Last night’s White House Correspondents Dinner speech by the president kicked all kinds of assneck. Seriously, some of the jokes were both home runs and others were totally ballsy.

Favorite line: Hillary Clinton “won’t stop drunk-texting me from Cartagena.” Second favorite line: “boy eat dog.”

The stone-faced Secret Service guys at the end were hilarious — and scary.

    I am so proud he is our President.
    I thought it was genius.
    I loved his crack about Huffington Post. Spot on.
    My only moment of infuriation was watching a few of the people who have said “I take the President at his word…” (and those who left the statement unchallenged) laugh uproariously at his joke about where he was born.

    One of my faves was the one about Harvard… What a snob!
    It was able to counter both Romney & Santorum, and be funny at the same time.

    President Obama takes the really crazy criticisms against him, and instead of apologizing for them turns them into the joke that they really are. Why can’t more Democrats see this tactic and use it? I used to enjoy talking to some of my more conservative friends. We disagreed on almost everything, but they weren’t completely batshit crazy. They didn’t spend all their time searching for reasons to be poutraged. Just wait, some “pundit” is going to get all outraged by the “it’s raining men” reference, claiming that President Obama is using the tragedy of those people leaping to their deaths on 9/11 as a joke.

    I especially liked the drone joke this year too, wait….that’s right there were no drone jokes this year, just all kinds of kick ass pieces of bloddy scraps littering the middle east from our resident sociopath. I’m soooo, sooo proud.
