More Women Inexplicably Liking Romney?!

I’m not exactly sure why this is happening, but it is. The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll:

All Romney’s gains have come among women – up by 13 percentage points in personal popularity from last month, while Obama’s lost 7 points among women. (Views among men have been more stable.) Obama’s rating among women, 51 percent favorable, still beats Romney’s 40 percent – but again that margin is far smaller than what it was six weeks ago.

But, but, but… ah hell. I’m admittedly flummoxed by this one.

Women? Help?

Now that he’s the nominee, I think he’s picked up women who love their wingnut men who had been supporting another Republican.

    • D_C_Wilson

Before or after they coax their wingnut men out of the closet?

  • Victor_the_Crab

    Well it is from a network news outlet. You know, the usual left wing lamestream media. {end sarcasm}

  • Chachizel

I feel the same way about women that vote Republican as I do about Blacks, Latinos, and gays that vote against their economic and social interests….WTF is wrong with you??!! WAKE UP!!!

    Women? Help?”

As with any group of people, some of us are not too bright?

  • Scopedog

What was the sample size, and who the hell did they poll?

I mean….Romney and the GOP (the latter especially) are out to drag women back to the 19th century….and some are okay with this?

Have we lost our fucking minds?

(Oh wait….we probably already have. After all, G. W. Bush did serve two terms, as did Reagan, and Nixon.)

If we as nation don’t re-elect President Obama, my worst fears will be confirmed. We as a nation may be pass the point of saving ourselves from ourselves.

I haven’t the fucking foggiest, Bob. I’ve given up trying to figure out women as well as men.

  • Madam1

This post makes me sick to my stomach. What woman in her right mind would vote for that asshole? I can’t explain it and now I have to go bang my head against the wall because Romney could be President someday and I need brain damage to cope with the maddness.

Kaiser has a new poll showing that only 31% of women think that attempts to restrict women’s access to reproductive health choices are wide-scale. I was shocked to read that the percentage was so low considering the fact that the news has been saturated with reports of GOPers actions in Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania, and other states. You can’t fix stupid, Bob, and some women are so dense as to believe that although Romney signs pledges to certain anti-women groups, approved of the Blunt Amendment, and supports every measure the republicans in Congress have pushed, his positions on issues important to them will never affect them at a personal level. They’d better wake up before they find themselves in a position like the young lady in OK who was denied treatment and a rape kit because the doctor said it conflicted with HER beliefs. H3ll, if the young lady became pregnant as a result of being raped, the brain dead doctor would never have to endure what she’d have to endure for the rest of her life.

There may be something to this. Much of the efforts to restrict women’s rights have been on the state level. Maybe many women aren’t associating it with national politics.

Also, the birth control issue has faded from the headlines, so we can thank Americans’ short attention spans for forgetting about that.

Just a reminder: this is a single poll, taken five months before the election. If other polls start showing the same trend, then it’s worth getting worked up over.

Beats me. I had dinner with an acquaintance who is a steward for her union. She’s a state government employee. Obviously a woman. She thinks Romney is the man. I am hoping it’s just a blip on the screen.

Working women rarely get polled. We don’t answer the phone if we don’t know who is calling and we aren’t as likely to slow down to answer questions on the street. Most polls are skewed because of who can be reached and might be willing to talk.

I haveno effin idea unless it’s he bullcrap coming out of Fauxnews and other con media saying that the Dems are actually waging war on women….

    Or Stockholm syndrome?

A particular but generally unnoticed genius trait of Obama is that he doesn’t do a damn thing to boost his poll numbers when doing so serves no purpose. There’s no reason to fight for women’s votes now. The Republican party is going to deliver a huge majority of women to Obama–the numbers will shift back when it counts.

  • hidflect

When women make all the choices, you end up with a peacock.

Those women simply forgot about Romney’s anti-women positions. Yes, FORGOT. They forgot what they knew just a few weeks ago. Why? The Republican war on women is out of the news. A great many Americans are reactionary and they’ll forget anything if it’s not being constantly repeated to them on a daily basis by the TV machine. Seriously. It’s that simple.
