In other news, The American Action Forum and The Weekly Standard, whose editor is none other than Bill “Bomb Iran” Kristol, are criticizing the new prison-rape prevention standards implemented by the Obama Administration this week because they’re too “costly”

If we can afford to imprison more people than any other nation, but cannot afford to prevent them from being raped, maybe we should imprison less people.

    The brutality, sexual or otherwise, in our prisons is shameful. Yet most people seem to believe that if you’re in prison you’ve got it coming. This belief is blithely reinforced in popular media. Tune in to virtually any TV crime drama. Watch the detective sneeringly threaten the suspect with becoming someone’s bitch in prison to coerce their cooperation. It’s sickening.
