In case you haven’t noticed, the Republicans seem to be on a crusade to free Americans to be as dicky as possible to their fellow Americans. It is now okay to be a dick to immigrants. It’s now okay to be a dick to your letter carrier. It’s now okay to be a dick to firefighters and schoolteachers. (Thanks, Scott Walker!) And have I mentioned recently what a colossal dick Rick Santorum is? And he’ll be at the GOP convention this summer. And it’s even okay to be a dick to the president of the United States on his own lawn. The unbridled liberty be a dick is sweeping this great nation.

I’d take it a step further and say the “crusade to free Americans to be as dicky as possible” is a function of the Republican campaign to feminize the Democratic party because Democrats are generally more tolerant. Tolerance is for wimps and being a dick makes you a serious, tough person.

    Feminizing the Democratic Party is soooo 1990’s!!! We’re in the full blown dehumanizing 21st century now.

    American egos are at epic bubble proportions these days. That will be President Romney’s bubble to burst as he ushers in a new age of Lords and Surfs.

    I blame Ayn Rand. Atlas Shrugged is basically a paean to being a dick. So many of today’s republicans now worship being a dick as their ideal thanks to her.

      I despise Ayn Rand too (she and Sarah Palin are both gender traitors IMHO). However, the men and women who adopt the Galtian Dick Ideal should be held accountable. Ayn didn’t make people believe and the basic idea she espoused wasn’t a new notion at all.
