Super Stupid

This is a real campaign ad from real congressional candidate Joe “the un-licensed” Plumber.

Samuel Wurzelbacher, famously known as ‘Joe The Plumber,’ is running for Congress this year on a platform of party-line Republican reforms, including gun control. But while it’s only natural that he would make a campaign advertisement around the issue, the tact he took is rather unusual — Wurzelbacher has a new advertisement in which he says that gun control laws are responsible for the Armenian genocide and the Holocaust of the Jews.

And this man was once elevated to national stardom by the entire Republican party after John McCain mentioned him in a presidential debate. You know, because he was the face of America’s working class and John McCain, not then-candidate Obama, had his best interests in mind.

I find it’s best if you don’t think about that too hard, otherwise you may become depressed.

This could be a record-setting year for campaign ads featuring wannabe politicians shooting their guns.

Another assmonkey with a gun. Why does shooting a gun become equated with decent policy making ability?

Oh…yeah…because the GOTP has no decent ideas to run a campaign on and they need to appeal to stupid people!

I would be more impressed if these guys would come out and say, “I have no real experience as a politician…but I have a big dick. And I promise you that if I get elected I will use that big dick to make sure you get fucked over. That’s the American Way that those faggot, cafe loving, arugula eating, non big dick socialists are trying to take away from you…your ability to let me fuck you over. Vote for me…Big Dick Joe.”

It’s not that they HAVE big dicks, quite the contrary, it’s that they ARE big dicks.

Yes, in my experience, they are tiny, tiny men. ;)

We really do love Joe the Plumber and he’s a loyal Bullies for Romney supporter, but we have to admit, he should run as Sarah Palin’s running made under the slogan, “Dumb and Plumber.” https://www.facebook.com/BulliesForRomney

“Gun control leads inexorably to tyranny and genocide” is standard NRA hooey from the 1970s. The LA Times used to run letters making that argument every couple of months. No surprises there: we must remember that Samuel Wurtzelbacher is not a particularly original character.

The ad itself is a puzzlement. The voiceover (apparently Wurtzelbacher himself, though no way am I going to watch again to confirm) solemnly informs us of the horrors that are the direct result of gun control for half a minute while the candidate shoots produce. He turns to the camera, grins through his face-mullet and says, “I love America.” Then the camera tilts up to show us the blown-out–overexposed sky.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Seriously, if this spot isn’t self-parody, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

And this may be the most brain-spraining update ever:

Hunter Walker at the New York Observer reached out to Wurzelbacher’s spokesperson, who only worsened the comparisons, comparing gun control to slavery as well:

Phil Christofanelli [said] “there’s nothing offensive” about the video and discussed how gun control may have led to slavery in the United States too…. “Well, blacks weren’t allowed to own guns in the south, that’s a historical fact as well,” said Mr. Christofanelli. “So, it would seem that the argument would apply there as well.”

    Wow. Just … wow.
