Senate Republicans Filibuster Equal Pay for Women

Every Republican voted to block this.

Today, Republicans in the Senate blocked the Paycheck Fairness Act by filibustering the bill. The legislation would have strengthened protections for women who are being paid less because of their gender by creating larger penalties for employers who discriminate, creating more transparency of salaries so that women know whether they are being paid less, and protecting those who sue for pay equity.

And somehow Romney is gaining with women. Why do they do it? Because they can — with impunity.

Its really pissing me off how dumb America is looking. Walker wins even with obvious corruption, and Romney gains with women even after MORE Republican obstructionism. Insane!! Canada, any room for a good looking Mexican American atheist?

We have Despotic Overlord Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his band of conservative little shits running over everything in Canada. That’s not much of an improvement.

Ha, yeah, good point. Guess I’ll stay here and keep fighting the good fight

An important note about this is that everywhere else I’ve seen the headline as “Senate blocks ….” You know, because both sides are equally to blame.

I noticed that last night with the networks. Every damn article they ran on this failed to put the blame on Republicans.

They’re nothing but hacks, definitely not journos/newsmen/women. You couldn’t pay me enough to do their jobs, and if they had any integrity, they wouldn’t do them either.

Sen. Mikulski threatened to “foment a revolution”. :-)
