Attacking Romney's One Strength

Josh Marshall has a fantastic point on the Bain assault:

The Obama team’s goal here is to make the entirety of Romney’s professional life toxic and off-limits before Romney even gets the chance to introduce himself to much of the public. And they’re off to a pretty good start.

While much of Romney’s campaign is based around “I’m Not Obama So Vote For Me,” the only legitimate pitch Romney can make for himself is his record in the private sector.

Not anymore. Bwa-hahahaa.

You know what’s even more hilarious Bob? The fact that the Kenyan/Socialist/Muslim/Commie is using the very tactic that Rove uses and is now whinning about. I love it. It’s like Obama went to the GOP’s house party and stole their girlfriends! You know what is also hilarious? I’ve seen a couple of GOP strategists now saying that the ad showing Mitt’s AWFUL SINGING is unpatriotic and that Obama is mocking America The Beautiful. They really are just ridiculous!

If Bain is off limits, and his stint as Mass. Governor is unremarkable except for that thing they won’t talk about, what does he have to run on? Vote for Mitt, serial candidate?

    • D_C_Wilson

Mitt can’t talk about his stint as governor, because he’s now running against everything he did in that job.

  • Lazarus Durden

He’s already unveiled his new strategy. It’s Southern.

Vote for Mitt Romney: The White Guy

The new attack strategy seems to be to make a big deal of the fact that some of PBO’s donors profited from some of his policies like Solyndra. The problem with this is that no president has the power to allocate the spending of taxpayers’ money. Gillespie was dumbstruck when “NBC’s Peter Alexander asked the natural follow-up: Would Romney’s campaign reveal who its bundlers were? That way, you know, people could determine, now or in 2013, whether they were benefiting from Romney policy.”

    Hahahaha!

Gillespie then pivoted from dropping hints that somehow PBO was guilty of some kind of corruption having to do with his campaign donors to talking about political appointments. He claimed that the Romney campaign was in compliance with FEC rules, but he avoided addressing the fact that Romney doesn’t reveal the names of his big donors. Peter Alexander’s question caught him off guard, and it was obvious. It seems as if the president opened up a can of whup azzz on Romney by exposing his lies about his time at Bain. It also seems that some in the MSM are finally working up the courage to ask Romney and his surrogates the questions that should be asked of any candidate seeking to occupy our nation’s highest political office.

I love, love, love the way the GOP are getting all pissy-pants about the America The Beautiful ad.
