Quote of the Day

“Thus, acutely aware one cannot rebuild their hearth of home amongst the ruins of their U.S. House office, for the sake of my loved ones I must ‘strike another match, go start anew’ by embracing the promotion back from public servant to sovereign citizen.” Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Michigan) announcing his resignation on Facebook

Yeah, I have no idea what the hell that means. Can someone ask Sarah Palin to translate Gibberish-to-English?

He’s quoting a Bob Dylan song from the 1960′s which means he’s a commie hippy.

    Wow.

Unlike Sarah, the sentence DOES contain both a noun and a verb.

However, I doubt she can translate, as the result would likely be gibberish – gibberish.

“I got caught submitting fraudulent petitions for my re-election, so now I’m getting out before Congress can censure me. Also, peeance freeance.”

Translation: The Republican led House of Representatives has become so batshit crazy – yes, even for me – I have decided that resigning my elected office as a GOP representative and becoming a private citizen again is a step up, rather than deal with these Tea Party nutballs.

“Sovereign citizen” is a term straight out of the militia movement. Maybe he’s leaving to take up an AK-47 and pursue those 2nd Amendment remedies.

This is a line from his Wikipedia page:
“on July 5, The Detroit News reported that McCotter had spent much of the time since his presidential campaign failed writing a television pilot script for a comedy/variety show starring himself, to be called Bumper Sticker: Made on MoTown. It featured characters with the same nicknames he used for members of his staff and a guest appearance by conservative commentator S.E. Cupp. “They take pot shots about McCotter’s ill-fated bid for the White House while spewing banter about drinking, sex, race, flatulence, puking and women’s anatomy,” the newspaper wrote.”

I dare anybody to tell me that this guy is not David Brent.
