Quote of the Day

“[I]f there were a magic key to unlock spectacular growth and widely shared prosperity, you’d think we would have found it by now. There hasn’t been a president in decades, the current one included, who didn’t have lots of businesspeople working in his administration. And Barack Obama talks to corporate leaders all the time. If Romney knows something they don’t, he hasn’t told us what it is. If you read through his economic plan, you’ll find that it contains the same things Republicans always advocate: lower taxes, reduced regulations, free trade, and so on. You’ve certainly heard Romney say that his business experience helps him understand the economy. But have you ever heard him say what exactly he learned that no one else knows?” Paul Waldman on Romney’s economic policy

Nice debunking of the “run government like a business” myth. And Romney is currently unable to talk about his business experience because it involves things like outsourcing, takeovers, shady possibilities of perjury and, yes, aborted fetus disposal.

    Shades of John McCain….

“I know how to capture bin Laden make the economy grow, and if elected …”

Remember that McCain sais that he knew where bin Laden was hidding but he just never got around to telling anyuone.

This shit drives me crazy. They always talk about how slow this recovery has been. You know, the slowest recovery since the Great Depression. Maybe because the Bushies and the republicans drive this country into the worst recession SINCE the Great Depression. If these clowns had the magic portion to fix this…..other than tax cuts and less regulation, I’m sure we would have heard about it by now. In the meantime this president has asked for infrastructure and putting teachers and firemen back to work, which is a sure fire way to put a dent in the high unemployment numbers. These republicans are straight up ASSHOLES.

      And several Job’s bills.

It would help if we had a real press in this country would ask real questions of the republicans instead of giving them free access to the public airwaves to spout nonsense.

“But have you ever heard him say what exactly he learned that no one else knows?”

Well no, because that would require him to commit to a particular policy stance and he has no intention of that.
