Selectively-Edited Supporters

As you may recall Mitt Romney wasn’t very well received when he spoke to the NAACP, soliciting boos several times. After the event Romney blew his dog-whistle while accusing the NAACP crowd of wanting “more free stuff.”

That was then. Now the Romney campaign has cut an official campaign video rewriting campaign history while portraying astroturf as the real deal.

(h/t ThinkProgress)

In fact, an NAACP official told MSNBC that the Romney campaign brought their own African American supporters to fill in the July 11 event. Romney himself admitted that he expected to be booed.

Remember — Mitt Romney knows what’s best for you even if you won’t admit it. And if you won’t admit it, he’ll selectively-edit you to make it appear that you do.

Mitt Romney’s campaign is looking more and more like it’s being run as the marketing campaign for a new flavor of soft drink that even the people selling it hate.

    • RoadtoFreedom

Oh Ok. Sure. And Axelrod’s head isn’t spinning at Obama’s gaffe a week about how the private sector is doing fine, entrepreneurs didn’t built their businesses and his plan ‘worked’.

I’ll make a prediction for you. On November 6th, when Obama loses, you’ll be utterly blindsided. Kinda like November 2010. Only worse.

Obama has never one an election against a real opponent. All the mud Team O has dreamed up to sling against him since May has done zippo and damaged Obama’s likability numbers instead. (Was 46/46 in May, 47/46 now, so Romney is actually +1 after the Bain BS attack)

So unless the economy suddenly pulls a hockey stick graph and millions of people magically find work… you may want to tone down the self delusion a tad.

Sure, you can say I’m a deranged rethuglican bla bla bla… but people told me that six months before Kerry lost when I predicted he’d do a face plant.

McCain was a joke. Romney’s not my favorite, but he’s gonna break your heart.

      • JMAshby

Is this a parody? It’s a pretty good one, if so.

        • RoadtoFreedom

Sorry JMAshby. I didn’t fully introduce my ‘full context’. I greet you from outside the Progressive Echo Chamber with ideas and facts you won’t hear from Rachel Maddow, or anyone else on MSLSD.

Thanks for the underhanded compliment. Wish I had better news for you.

          • Victor_the_Crab

That would be the ideas and facts that are the daily talking points the wingnut right pulls out of its assholes and feed all you little baby birdies living inside the right wing bubble. Sorry to ruin your life fuckface, but nobody with a brain is interested in swallowing that shit!

          • JMAshby

I actually haven’t watched MSNBC in over a year.

Too conservative for me during most of the day.

          • mrbrink

Ha ha ha ha ha. I will fuck your face with your face.

        • D_C_Wilson

Sorry, Ashby. Didn’t mean for that to be in reply to your post.

      • D_C_Wilson

        “entrepreneurs didn’t built their businesses”

Since you know full well that isn’t what he said, I’m not going to bother with the rest of your post. When someone opens their first paragraph with a lie, I stop reading.

Seriously man just go away. I’ve never really figured out why you Right wing trolls feel the need to invade sites and spew talking point after talking point. You never provide any fact based evidence, you never make any sort of balanced claim, contribute to a discussion to advance anything resembling coherent thought. It’s just pure invective, hyperbolic cognitive dissonance and projection all day everyday.

Here’s the reality: Obama’s probably gonna win. Mitt is polling poorly in the battleground states and he’s gotta win just about all of them to have any kind of shot at winning the election. All Obama has to do is win Florida or Ohio and he’s got the WH. That’s not bias, that’s just math. It’s on his side.

Look if you wanna have a civil discussion stick around. I’d be more then happy to have one with you on the merits of academic discourse, but if you’re just here to troll this board please feel free to fuck off.

        • ninjaf

          A-freakin’-men!

        • D_C_Wilson

Maybe they’re still giving away those Karl Rove bobbleheads for the most trolling?

Seriously, I think for people like RoadtoFreedom, it’s a game, like the ones kids used to play to see who could stay in the spooky abandoned house the longest.

Seriously, it can’t be all that interesting to just repeat whatever talking points Hannity and Rush issued to each other. So, they venture out, spew the talking points and make a bunch of posts that end in “LOL”, then go back to RedState or the The Blaze and high five each other about they told “those libtards what’s what”.

  • JackDaniel07

I’m now officially convinced that the GOP has thrown in the towel, silently conceding defeat this year. They are now just going to see exactly how far they can push the American public before it pushes back…research for 2016

    • RoadtoFreedom

Really? Is that why the NBC/WSJ poll showing Obama up 6 had a Dem +11 skew? You’ll experience less cognitive dissonance if you watch Rassmussen with is Romney 47 Obama 44… that is, in case you were blindsided by the epic flushing the Democrats experienced in November 2010 (or are you a 2010 denier?)

Hate to break it to you, but since May Team Obama has spend gazillions of dollars to convince indies and swing voters to believe Romney is the anti-christ of Capitalism… and apparently you’re sold on the idea.

But Obama’s much vaunted ‘likeability’ has plummeted and his approval rating is at 47 or below.

Pop quiz… how many presidents since WWII have won re-election with less than 50 approval?

      Answer: None.

Since 2009, there have been two brief blips when Obama was over 50. First, when he extended the Bush tax cuts in 2010. Second, when OBL was killed (which is unlikely to repeat).

So… with Reid now passing Obama’s daft 250k tax boondoggle, what do you think the odds are that Obama’s gonna get a tax cut bump? Not high.

Now, I’m not a huge Romney fan… but he out polls Obama on trust on the economy among swing voters.

Number one issue for 2012? The economy.

Oh, and ObamaTax not so popular (still!).

May want to keep some Jack Daniels around for pain relief. Just thought I would pop inside the liberal echo chamber here and help y’all out and prepare for the Great Disappointment.

      Good luck!

P.S. What qualifications did Obama have for this job, anyway? I mean, executive experience? That’s right. Nothing.

      • http://drangedinaz.wordpress.com/ IrishGrrrl

Hahaha you’re comments are so funny! The way you selectively pick those polls results and re-interpret history to support your own cognitive dissidence is truly entertaining. The fact is the attack on Romney’s business credentials is working because Americans are sick of corporatists like Romney. Overall though the Polls are not as clear as you like to think. And in troubled times like these I wouldn’t expect them to be crystal clear. You just keep repeating your lies, because that’s the only playbook you conservatives have.

        • RoadtoFreedom

Maybe some time you can explain to me what ‘cognitive dissidence’ is. It’s Dissonance sport.

Cherry pick? I’musing the latest polls. Sorry if they don’t support your delusion.

Any thoughts on the rampant crony capitalism under Obama? Why he got so much money from Wall Street and even BP?

Overall, Obama’s favorability has tanked since he walked on water in 09 and has never stayed above 50, as I said.

What were your expectations in October 2010? Did you foresee Obama retaining the majority in the Congress?

I bet you did. You probably thought Kerry was a sure thing, too.

I’ll grant you it’s a tight race in the polls, but no president has won re-election with unemployment over 7.3% and /or an approval rating below 50.

But, then again, we’ve never elected a President with zero executive experience before either.

Then again… there’s November 2010. The last time the nation had a chance to offer ‘guidance’ to the party in power. Did they listen?

          Nope.

          • JMAshby

Yep! Leading nationally by 7, leading swing states by 8, leading electoral projections by almost 100! It’s all tied up! Wee!

          • JackDaniel07

Anyone ever seen RoadtoFreedom and Chuck Todd’s goatee in the same room at the same time? hmmmmmmmmmm

“Maybe some time you can explain to me what ‘cognitive dissidence’ is. It’s Dissonance sport.”

Says the troll who wrote earlier in this post:

“Obama has never ONE an election…”

You knew right well what she meant. Just as I knew what you meant when you confused “one and “won”.

Care for a lesson in “there, they’re, and their”?

        National polls mean jack shit.

  • RoadtoFreedom

Hey, remember how well Obama was received at this year’s NAACP gathering? That’s right… he wasn’t because Joe Biden was there instead. That was inspiring and went over super well, too.

Romney was booed. And? He also got a standing ovation when he finished. I’ll let you sort out which is more important.

Personally, I’m impressed he went there and talked straight to the audience and didn’t pander. Figures, you would turn that into ‘dog whistle’ nonsense.

You may want to examine why you think that everything comes down to race. When. It. Doesn’t.

The only thing I was happy about when Obama won in 08 was that we had a black president. Little did I know he’d completely destroy race relations by making everything about his race.

The same nation that elected him can’t suddenly be turned around and called racist just because he gets crappy results and turned Hope and Change into Hype and Fail.

Racist used to mean something. I despise racists.

Problem for you is I’ve realized that Democrats who use the race card are actually racists. it’s sad.

    • Victor_the_Crab

      Yer a funny retard.

      • RoadtoFreedom

I see, so straight to the ad hominem. Gotcha.

Thanks for playing. I’ll count you as ‘got nothing’.

Sorry in advance for your mind imploding in November.

        • Victor_the_Crab

I see your ad hominem and raise you an ad nauseum with the laughable nonsense you’re spewing right now.

Welcome to the jungle, beeyotch. Prepare to get smacked back to your bridge.

    • JMAshby

The only thing I was happy about when Obama won in 08 was that we had a black president.

So, basically, you were happy about electing a token black guy. That says everything about you and nothing about him or his real supporters.

      Your concerns don’t fool anyone.

      • RoadtoFreedom

I see. So the only kind of black man I could appreciate is if he’s a token. Your words, not mine. Since those weren’t my words, they are your projection.

I’m sorry you hold black people in such low esteem. You can save your smug presumption of superiority for someone who will buy it… like any other leftist here.

Since you like to sort people exclusively by color and judge them, I’d say you’re the racist.

        • JMAshby

          Derp.

          • Victor_the_Crab

            More like, BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-BULLSHIT-BLAHHH-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH-FREEDOM!!!

Never argue with a foxacated drunk.

        • ninjaf

I would say since our President is of mixed heritage and you only see him as a black man, I would say that makes you the racist.

Mitt Romney and his partners at Bain Capital have put together a generous offer pamphlet for you, middle class American people.

The first step in the plan for the New American Mitt Romney Century would be to of course consolidate all the waste and fraud this president has failed to rein in to pay down his criminal debt to society in increments and lump sums, and incremental lump sums, and to combine the Department of Energy, The EPA, The UN, Department of Education, Dept. of Labor, Consumer protections, The Union of Concerned Scientists, and the office of the Vice President to boldly cut the deficit where this president has failed to go. Dick Cheney for life! The military will now fall under Mitt Romney’s eager enthusiasm for subservience to the American Death Star Alliance paid for by a more simplified tax plan. A national sales tax, Living wage tax, voting tax, security camera tax, administrative tax, Internet usage tax, Licensing tax, sin tax, unemployment tax, water tax, and all applicable taxes and fees will be paid for by allowing more hard working Americans to keep their freedom.

Because Mitt Romney is excited about this president’s failures, he wants you to be excited for Mitt Romney. Excited for America, but scared! Fearful and uncertain of your shared hardships, unnecessary government debt defaults, and economic pains to come. Mitt Romney and his partners at Bain Capital feel your pain because this president came into office as a failed president and has proven it time and time again and he has failed more Americans than any president in our lifetime. His lofty speeches and inability to restore the future are dangerous. Mitt Romney and his partners at Bain Capital intend to inspire and lead and sire a whole new generation of totally self-made millionaire offspring who totally build it themselves to bring this country back to a new age of appreciation for employer rights and worker subordination, “jobs and the economy.”

Mitt Romney wants to cut taxes and put Americans back to work immediately starting with his first day in office so we can once again look poverty in the face with individual freedom and the confidence of Ronald Reagan tearing down that wall. Because Donald Trump and one Ted Nugent are looking around in fearful uncertainty wondering where are all the jobs? This president doesn’t have any answers because he has squandered a totally filibuster proof Super Majority and has attacked employers and their workers and their right to work all across this great country and it’s time they got to work.

Mitt Romney once saw a man kiss another man and it was the most beautiful thing he ever witnessed. It disgusted him and he doesn’t agree with it, but that’s just where Mitt Romney disagrees with himself and the majority of Americans, so we can agree to disagree and you’ll like it because some things go against everything Mitt Romney and his wife Ann believe in.

And Mitt Romney is laser focused on Jobs and the Economy and vice versa. All business. Nothing personal. Tackling the issues of the day, putting America back on top of the fiscal pyramid where this president is afraid to lead and instead punishing success and our traditions of celebrating the greed and success of others. In Mitt Romney’s administration, he will reward only the greedy and the successful with lower deficits, less spending, lower taxes, higher exceptionalism, less regulations, entitlement spending reform, more growth, better success, unity, dominating strength, tough decisions, and laughing at his religion is unfair.

But unfortunately, this president doesn’t want to talk about the issues that matter to the American people, like his job-crippling policies. This president just isn’t working. “Get him a bodybag!” Sincerely, the Cobra Kai. He’s lazy and shiftless and foreign and has failed to understand, or fully appreciate his freedom in America.

And because this president is spineless and weak on crime and tyranny and Hugo Chavez and drilling anywhere for oil– he has given aid and comfort to the tyranny of the disenfranchised around the globe. Emboldening our enemies and bowing like the house servant to the Emperor of Japan. Mitt Romney will never bow to the help, or to the Soviet Union, and he will never take no for an answer and he will never compromise with terror, or China, and such as, Iraq and Iran, and we will rise to #1 again once his policies are Executive ordered on Day 1 and given a white man’s head start to take effect.

Because this president has failed to work with Republicans at making himself a one term president at every turn and it’s time for a change(it’s okay, forever white flight America, you can treat the most intellectually capable president in modern history like the help)back to when… O Beautiful, for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain…

The keys are all there. It all makes sense. Just sign on the dotted line. Sign it. Sign it!

  • Whatever__Man

Why is it that if someone has an argument you don’t agree with, you all say they are lying?

I think liberals are not lying when they said that nobody deserves credit for what they have built, that rich people are just lucky, and that you can tax people to grow the economy. Just because these things are not actually proved in reality doesn’t mean they are lying. They believe these things, hence they are speaking the truth they believe in. Just because you’re wrong doesn’t mean you’re lying.

But that is an easy way to get out of actually dealing with reality. Just claim someone is lying or racist or (insert attack here) instead of actually having to look at employment numbers, revenue numbers and the like. Everyone just puts on their politically colored glasses to see what they would like out of each and every picture but in the end, the ship is sinking and nobody can afford the cost of the band that’s still playing.

The reason people are not taking RoadtoFreedom seriously is because his/her arguments are not sincere. He/she may believe what he/she is saying to be true, but it is couched in talking points from talk radio and disdain for others who are not in lockstep in those beliefs. Not a bit of sincerity or reflection in his/her comments.

When you start a conversation with insults, you are setting the tone for the conversation. RoadtoFreedom is merely trolling and flaming. He/she obviously had no intentions of having a true discussion.
