The Great State of Denial

In other news, the senate successfully passed an extension of tax cuts for those making less than $250,000 per year today by a margin of 51 to 48.

The bill will never pass the House unfortunately, but it puts the Republicans in the awkward position of voting against a tax cut for most Americans.

I think it’s great, though, that Mitt Romney is in London restoring America’s special Anglo-Saxon bondage with British Loyalists. Someone has to apologize for Barack Obama and the Founding Fathers.

I can’t wait for him to restore America’s Mormon bond with Israel.

Wording matters. The tax cut wasn’t for people making less than 250K. It was a tax cut for EVERYONE’S first 250K of income. Rich people got the same tax cut. That is all. Not to be a jerk, but this is why we can’t have nice things. Stupid little things like this.

The Republicans agreed not to filibuster the extension because they were sure they could flip enough votes to defeat it outright. The only Dems that flipped were retiring jackasses Lieberman and Webb. Maybe Democratic candidates might just be able to unite and run on this in November.

Why did you find it necessary NOT TO comment on the Republican bill (retain ALL current tax rates) voted down?
Democrats are gonna pay for that, they want to raise taxes, proven by their vote.
