Will This Somehow Create Jobs, Mr. Boehner?

The Boehner Republicans will soon begin a series of nonsense votes in an effort to symbolically de-fund the ACA. They’ll never pass through the Senate and therefore are a big-ass waste of time, other than providing red meat for the base.

The House as early as next week will pass legislation prohibiting the IRS from receiving any money from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to implement the 2010 healthcare reform law. [...]

The report notes that in 2010, HHS allocated $20 million to the IRS for enforcing the healthcare law “without the Committee’s knowledge.” It also notes that the IRS received $168 million from HHS to implement the law in 2011, and plans to get another $322 million from HHS in 2012.

Wasting all this time and money instead of doing useful work is also very conservative.

On a semi-related note, I was shocked to see my wingnut rep, scott riggell, vote against censuring the AG. At least he redeemed his rwnj cred by voting to waste tax-payer money pursing a civil prosecution though.

This kind of thing is about the only thing that Cantor, Ryan et al will allow Boehner to do–waste taxpayers’ time and money on political stunts.

Purely symbolic, purely horseshit. And done with all the gravitas these hoopleheads can muster.
