Wolverines!!!!!

The Romney campaign warned America about the Soviet threat again.

A foreign policy adviser to Mitt Romney’s campaign warned against policies that would aid “the Soviet Union” Wednesday, making him at least the third person from Team Romney – including Romney himself – to refer to a country that hasn’t existed since 1991 in the course of attacking President Obama’s foreign policy.

I think Mitt Romney has an Ottoman Empire worldview that might encourage an invasion from the Lost City of Atlantis.

Liberals don’t herd easily. Independent, critical thinkers don’t fall in line the way brain-dead conservatives do. If we learned to play that game, we’d be a lot better off…

The sad thing is most Americans won’t even notice that he used the name of a non-existent nation. I also think it is purposeful. Romney is pushing to restart that stupid missile installation in Poland again and the only way to do that is to play along with the well-worn lie that the ‘Russo-Cuban Army’ is coming to get us.

Even though it’s all just prep for his trip to Poland it is still incredibly stupid. Romney wants to play pretend war with Russia so he can 1) score political points (because idiots in our media think the President is vulnerable on the issue of Russia) and 2) to reward his military-industrial complex cronies with more undeserved treasure. And it’s not only stupid, it’s dangerous. He, and all the neocons backing him, are absolutely determined to to either start a new war or find a way to fund companies like Halliburton even during peacetime.

The irony of it all is nearly orgasmic.

I saw this yesterday and commented (on Teh Book of Faces):

Once again the Repellicans prove they’re stuck in the past. There are people who were born after the Soviet Union ceased to exist that can vote in this election.

The Romney campaign would like to send a letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Is it too late for the 4:30 autogyro?

It’s even worse than it sounds. Someone on the haunted fishtank a couple of days ago (Ezra Klein?) pointed out that while Mitt Romney is making tough-guy noises about both Russia and Iran, the only way to make sanctions on Iran stick are by making nice with Russia.

Further proof, as if it were needed, that Romney’s taking foreign policy advice from buffoons (why, hello, John Bolton!).

Well, they still go on about ACORN, why not a country that essentially ceased to exist two decades ago?
