Bobby Jindal Demands More Wealth Redistribution

As predicted, a states’ rights, small government, anti-deficit, anti-debt, anti-government spending Republican is demanding federal money that’s been redistributed from taxpayers in other states. Not only that, but when President Obama approved funds for Bobby Jindal, he demanded more money.

The White House said Obama informed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal of the emergency declaration in a phone call. The declaration makes federal support available to save lives, protect public health and safety and preserve property in coastal areas.

Jindal, a Republican, shot back late Monday in a letter to the Obama administration that the declaration fell short of the help he was requesting.

“We appreciate your response to our request and your approval,” Jindal wrote. “However, the state’s original request for federal assistance … included a request for reimbursement for all emergency protective measures. The federal declaration of emergency only provides for direct federal assistance.”

If the hurricane wasn’t such serious business I’d be inclined to laugh in his small-government face and hang up the phone.

Wasn’t it the Republicans that cut this type of aid?

Obama will need to shine on anything Isaac related as the GOP will be watching intently, waiting for the slightest hiccup. They may even try to trip him up on this, which I’m sure he’s fully aware of. At least the hurricane is a distraction from the convention, in terms of media attention.

The hurricane may do more harm to the GOP than Obama. If the storm causes significant damage, it’ll dilute the coverage of the RNC. Also, if FEMA performs well, it’ll undermine their message that “we built that without any help from teh gubmint!”

    Oops, double post.

Looks like the foot’s on the other hand now!

Maybe B.J. can perform some sort of exorcism on the hurricane…rid it of its demon rain and satanic wind. Yea and verily….
..and oh …and if his brethren had successfully cut $1.2 billion from NOAA.. they wouldn’t have been bothered with this much advance warning.

Federal spending is a waste! And there’s not enough of it!

Sounds like Puyaj (or whatever his real name is) Jindal is seeking a nanny’s teat to suckle from.

      Sorry–his real name’s Piyush.
