Mitt Romney Lie of the Day

Mitt Romney wrote that President Obama is trying to disenfranchise the troops! Via The Facebook:

President Obama’s lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state’s early voting period is an outrage. The brave men and women of our military make tremendous sacrifices to protect and defend our freedoms, and we should do everything we can to protect their fundamental right to vote. I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I’m entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I’ll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them.

As with most of what Romney says, this is a lie. Ohio voters used to have early voting, but the Republican legislature predictably eliminated it except for the military. The Obama administration is challenging the law in court in order to restore early voting for everyone.

To paraphrase the vice president, every Romney sentence contains three things: a noun, a verb and a lie.

    Josh Marshall:

The whole episode is tailor made to expose how corrupted the press corps is. The entire thing is a demonstrable lie, and all in the service of keeping vote participation as low as possible. In other words, a Fehrnstrom Special. Very curious to see whether the biggs report it as such.

Unfortunately, Chuck Todd will declare that “both sides” engage in voter suppression.

Mitt Romney’s lies are getting too big to ignore. They’re getting greedy with the public’s tolerance for bullshit, or desperate– shooting for the stars– and due to the nature of the charges, between this and the whole “you didn’t build that” line of attack, irresistible public curiosity is going to bite them all in the ass.

      Keep going!

Exactly! I was insensed last night when I saw this stoy on ABC New’s website. Fortunatly before I could drop in the link from Think Progress, others on the site were already there trashing Mitt and ABC News. Speaking of which, I caught This Week this morning and John Karl is a complete asshole! I was also pissed to see Man Coulter on but, at least Van Jones was there and he bitch slapped her several times. By the way, this story never came up. I wonder why? (snark)

Here are just a few headlines from Mediaite today:

This is a wingnut site to me. It’s the site I first discovered when I wondered over back when Palin first came on the scene. As some of you might remember I pasted in a comment that was basically gibberish and waited for the commenters to pounce. When they did, calling me stupid I lowered the boom and told them that it was actually a direct quote from Palin and the UNHINGED CAPS AND NAME CALLING ensued. They hate me now but, that’s OK. I proved my point that day!

Even Fox News acknowledges the purpose of the suit, noting “the lawsuit does not restrict the ability of military personnel to cast their ballots early.”

    Says a lot, doesn’t it?

I’m kind of surprised it took them this long to get to “Obama hates the troops.”

To recap the Romney campaign thus far:

    -Religious freedom
    -The U.S. Constitution
    - Jobs and the Economy

    -Success
    -Exceptionalism
    -Freedom and Liberty
    -Birth certificates
    -Your Guns
    -America the Beautiful

    -Moms in the workplace

This is even low for Romney because it basically is two lies. One lie is hiding that the Republicans in Ohio are actually the ones trying to restrict voting rights for most of the voters. And of course the other bigger lie is that Obama is trying to hinder the military from voting.

A new low for sure but with Mittens the Mendacious expect many many new lows. He’s pretty much the antithesis to record high temps caused by Climate Change.

To paraphrase Lillian Hellman, every word out of Romney’s mouth is a lie, including “and” and “the.”

    And verbs are optional.

I went to his Facebook page and there were quite a few comments calling out the lie, several posters linked to Snopes. One said he was a Republican & was pissed about the story so looked into it some more and found that Mittster was lying. That pissed him off even more and he said he’s voting for Obama now!! Keep it up Mitt, driving away even Republican voters. (I do realize the Republican bit could have been an embellishment but maybe not)

    • D_C_Wilson

What? They’re just learning now that he’s a pathological liar?

Hell, I’d say the only time Newt has told the truth was when he called Mittens a liar.

Now that’s an excellent description of being judged by one’s peers.
