Quote of the Morning

“Yes, Ryan comes off as nerdier than Romney, but he doesn’t come off as much more human. They seem like two slightly different variants of the classic gladhanding candidate for high-school student-body president. Both would be on the debate team, but the Romney model would also be on the football team, whereas the Ryan model would compete in interscholastic math tournaments. Most kids at my high school didn’t especially like either type. They only voted for one of them because there was no alternative.” Bob Wright on Paul Ryan

That. Exactly.

I see Romney more as the lacrosse type, but that may just be because I’m from Long Island.

Bob Wright is correct… except I think it’s more likely the Romney model would be on the lacrosse team.
Football is more geared to commoners.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the private school he went to had a dressage team.

    Great minds, Sean.

I got a chuckle out of that.

I was thinking tennis. You can get a nasty head injury in lacrosse, and you have to bump elbows with sweaty common folk (e.g. Chad, whose parents’ house in the Hamptons doesn’t have a true ocean view).

On the other hand, a nasty head injury would explain a lot.
