How The House Spent Their Last Day in D.C.

This is how the House spent their last day in Washington before going on vacation for another two months.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The most partisan, least productive Congress in memory is bolting Washington for the campaign trail, leaving in its wake a pile of unfinished business on the budget and taxes, farm policy and legislation to save the Postal Service from insolvency.

The GOP-controlled House beat its retreat Friday morning after one last, futile slap at President Barack Obama — passing a bill called the “Stop the War on Coal Act.”

The Stop the War on Coal Act. Not the American Jobs Act. Or the farm bill. Or the wing energy tax credit. Or changing course on sequestration which they supposedly hate. Or the Violence Against Women Act.

Before congress puts a stop to the mythical “war on coal,” coal should stop the war on itself.

I defer to Representative Ed Markey.

I love the titles republicans have been giving their bills. “End the War on Coal” and “Repeal the Job Killing Obamacare Law Act” (Law Act?).

They might as well call all their bills, “The Obama is a Poopyhead Act”. It would show the same level of maturity.

Or, “The No Niggers in the White House” act.
