“My Job Is Not To Worry About Those People.”

I’m not sure I’d call this candidacy-ending, but this video is absolutely brutal. This is going to go viral.

The transcript is embedded if you can’t listen, but I recommend listening for the full effect.

This was taken at a private, closed-door fundraiser earlier this year. You know, one of those “quiet rooms.”

According to Mitt, virtually half the country are lazy, irresponsible welfare queens dependent on the government. And some of them even think we should give them food if they have none! The gall! Oh and, by the way, he wants your votes.

Does this mean Mitt will be voting for President Obama? After all, Mitt could be considered part of the mythical “47 percent” considering that he pays taxes on capital gains but not income taxes.

This is another part of the video sent to David Corn of Mother Jones which, given recent events, seems particularly relevant.

I have a very good team of extraordinarily experienced, highly successful consultants, a couple of people in particular who have done races around the world. I didn’t realize it. These guys in the US—the Karl Rove equivalents—they do races all over the world: in Armenia, in Africa, in Israel. I mean, they work for Bibi Netanyahu in his race.

That shines a light on things, doesn’t it?

    3 words: Holy Fucking Shit.

    • Ned F

Worldwide campaign consultants. Kinda puts that New World Order into a different perspective. And those guys in New Hampshire are worried about Agenda 21 or some U.N. such nonsense.

      • ninjaf

What concerns me is this campaign adviser connection to Netanyahu. And all of a sudden, Netanyahu is demanding a “red line” for Iran must be drawn NOW, less than 2 months from an election?

  • Victor_the_Crab

Romney’s deep hole keeps getting deeper and deeper until no light is able to shine through the bottom.

  • jjasonham

    Terrible.

I have been a political junkie for many years. So I can say unequivocally that this is the most indecent, underhanded, callous, shallow, meanest, and absolutely indecent thing I have ever heard from someone running for any political office at any level. Victorthecrab is right–we are staring directly into the bottomless pit that is Mitt Romney’s soul. If there is anymore evidence that this man is totally unfit for any political office, then I am too scared tofind out about it.

I continue to point out to those on the right that if you vote for Romney–you deserve what happens to you. I understand that a vote for Romney is a vote against Obama–really, I get that. But it is time for people on the right to stop making the case that Mitt Romney is human. This is the most heartless and dispassionate man to ever run for the presidency.

  • ElayneB

And I’m sure for the media it’ll be just another both sides are the same re the “clinging to their guns and religion” comment.

    • Brutlyhonest

You called that correctly! On nbc tonight, tehTodd excused Rmoney as maybe not really meaning what he said but just saying what his audience wanted to here (like that’s better?) . He then proceeded to directly compare Rmoney’s speech to the President’s “guns & religion” statement.

      • http://drangedinaz.wordpress.com/ IrishGrrrl

Mittens voice and comfort level really contradict Todd’s BS. Have you ever heard Mittens sound that comfortableandconfident? No, that video shows EXACTLY who he is inside. A friggin sociopath.

        • Brutlyhonest

Concur. My wife had to pause the playback while I explained to tehTodd what a fookin idiot asshat I find him to be :P

Also, too: I was one-hand typing on my phone earlier so cut short the revulsion in the voices of tehTodd and Deuce (McWilliams always sounds like he’s trying to squeeze out a deuce [you're welcome]) as the called Mother Jones a “liberal magazine” and described the recording as underhanded (I can’t remember the exact word atm).

      • stacib23

And this morning he did the both sides do it and then he played the piece of the Obama audio where he mentioned people clinging to their guns and religion and only that piece of the audio. Somehow his producers couldn’t fit in the next two minutes where Obama explains that he will continue to make his case to those voters.

        • Victor_the_Crab

Chuck Todd deserves death by a thousand bitchslaps.

    Half-Merica, Half-Merica, God smite those we deceive…

Mitt Romney and his partners at Bain Capital will only be uniting half of the country in this election and hope to unveil their plan to forcibly unite the others in a third term. Once we are fully united behind Mitt Romney, we can finally turn the page on the darkest, blackest, most divisive, laziest chapter in our great nation’s white flight history and finally get back to work enshrining the likeness of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney right next to Lincoln and Washington.

Fear not, Americans who pay no “income taxes”– the poor, the working poor, the elderly, the disabled– you should support your taxes going up. The time for being disadvantaged is over!

Billionaires of the world– Unite! Against fair wages and standards, education, and healthcare!

It’s a unifying message of division, you see.

  • Ned F

Wouldn’t a better idea be to raise living standards and wages on us poor folk so we could join the glorious 53% who pay income taxes?

    • Brutlyhonest

      You so silly!

  • http://www.politicalruminations.com/ nicole

    I find myself completely unsurprised.

We knew that Romney was of, by and for the very wealthy.

We know that the very wealthy in this country are seeking to buy a presidency.

That said, whoever recorded these videos did a very good thing.

It’s also good to know that as an Obama supporter, I don’t pay taxes. Right? NOT.

    • Username1016

Yeah — assuming the videos are real (which I don’t really doubt, but I guess we’ll see!), three cheers for the person who recorded and leaked them! S/he oughta get a medal for exposing this stuff.

I think Mr. Romney is toast.

      Thank heavens.

    • bphoon

When I heard that comment, that said just about all I need to hear about Mitt Romney. I thought I knew he was a bigot; now I know I know he’s a bigot.

As for this Obama supporter, I pay out my ass in income taxes. Hell, if anyone should be for lowering taxes it should be me. I just happen to have this moral compass thingy that makes me believe I should pay my fair share for the common good.

  • Ellen Kuhlmann

The Romnybot is going down. He’s just confirming what some have known for a long time, and others more recently, but this should give a nudge to those still giving him the benefit of the doubt.

This tape proves that Netanyahu is the same slimey, lying, slithering piece of shit as Romney. Disgusting and despicable. Romney is a dead man walking !

  • Brutlyhonest

New ad : Romney is such a fan of outsourcing, he outsourced his campaign!

  • Treading_Water

If the upper end of middle class is 250,000, then that 47 percent is composed of those families making less than 200,000 a year?

    Moochers.

  • agrazingmoose

    Spontaneous combustion in plain sight.

  • D_C_Wilson

So, where are our resident trolls? I’d love to see them try to spin this.

    • Zen Diesel

Impersonating a Fox Troll I will give it a shot…lol,

that wasn’t Romney it was a tape doctered by liberal media,
his words were taken out of context……
      It’s Obama’s Fault
      It’s Obama’s Fault
      It’s Obama’s Fault

David Brooks almost became a Democrat today. His latest column was sad and pathetic only because he’s the last of the rational republicans, and he’s been struggling with being rational of late.

    • JMAshby

      David Brooks? Rational?

      • i_am_allwrite

It’s been awhile since he corked his head up his ass, I admit. But Brooks tried for awhile to be moderate. My point is that his latest column pretty much exposes that internal struggle, as well as the Republican “facts be damned, I can’t possibly be wrong,” attitude.

      • i_am_allwrite

NYTimes blogpost “Elephant in the Room.” It’s a pretty thoughtful (for him) examination of whether Bush is to blame for Romney’s probable failure. Only without realizing it, Ross undermines modern conservatism as a movement. He doesn’t attack Bush’s character or integrity, but his policies, and especially the way they damaged the middle class. The remedy, he says, is for a new voice to emerge that will lead on behalf of the middle class. So he acknowledges that Bush policies hurt the middle class, faults Romney/Ryan for basically promising to continue those CONSERVATIVE policies, and calls for bold new ideas that would seemingly HAVE to be more liberal, yet dismisses liberalism in his smarmy little bitch way. Note that he doesn’t even hint at what those bold new ideas would be–because HE CAN’T. They’re not rooted in conservatism.

I’ve never seen anything so perfectly demonstrate how conservatism has failed due to the inability of conservatives to self-examine or learn anything from failure

      • incredulous72

Yeah, I almost spit up my coffee on that one.

He may not be as off-the-rails insane as the rest of the party is, but rational that man is not.

  • http://www.politicalruminations.com/ nicole

He’s on Nightline making a damn fool of himself.

The only thing that was missing was Romney saying, “If they’d rather die then they better do it and decrease the surplus population”

Romney is the modern day Scrooge.
