Obstruction

Artist – Monte Wolverton

In other news, Mitt Romney is now kinda sorta running on some aspects of Obamcare/Romneycare. Maybe.

It’s important to keep in mind that this isn’t the first time someone on Team Romney has offered faint praise of Obamacare/Romneycare, but they walked it back by the end of the next day every time.

Also — it has now been one year since President Obama introduced the American Jobs Act and one year since the Republicans began obstructing it.

Right wing Republicans should be in prison for standing in between Americans and millions of jobs like this. Unemployment is the direct failure of the corporate sector that is currently unwilling, or unable to meet demand.

So when the private sector fails to meet this demand, it is the people’s government that must meet that demand.

Obstructing government from alleviating this disparity, this human suffering and hopelessness, with no alternative in sight, is an immoral betrayal of god and country.

You don’t just do nothing and hope that free market principles save the day. You don’t just do nothing for the sake of winning an election. Criminal negligence and indifference isn’t a principle. It’s a personality disorder.

It’s even worse than doing nothing, good sir. They are actively sabotaging the recovery by sitting on wads of cash they could use to expand and hire. Paying CEOs and other execs obscene amounts while demanding more and more from the workers for the same or less pay.

I still can’t grasp how any working class person can support the modern republican party.

Romney’s campaign pretty much walks back everything sooner or later. A few days ago, Romney said in an interview that he opposed abortion except in cases of rape and incest, or to protect the life or health of the mother. Within hours, his campaign issued a statement that said he didn’t really mean the health part.

This is the problem that comes with making up all of your positions based on which way the political winds are blowing. You have to constantly remember which positions are your current ones vs. last week’s positions.

Romney has already walked back his Obamacare comments.

Even still, I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point he tries to take credit for Obamacare.

This comment cracked me up, and seems so right on target:
