    “Romney needs women!” Ick. Funny, but … seriously, ick.

    If Mitt Romney had succeeded with his attempted gotcha on Libya, we’d never have heard the end of it. Our glorious news media would have the video on a loop, 24/7.

    Instead, Romney stepped on his johnson. Wearing golf shoes. An intelligent man would have heard Obama say, “Please proceed, governor,” and changed course. (No, I tell a lie, an intelligent man would have heard Obama’s angry defense of his team and changed course.) Instead, Romney just kept yammering on, oblivious, and humiliated himself. It was a damned unpresidential performance that should have been the end of Romney’s candidacy. It was covered once, sorta kinda, and promptly sent down the memory hole. Liberal media, my foot.

    Bob, I hope you’re right and next week’s debate is a bloodbath. Maybe that will finaly shake the twin myths of Moderate Mitt and Competent Mitt. (Nothing else has, and I fear even a debate debacle won’t, but a man can hope.)

    Chez, Obama dislikes Romney; Romney hates the very fact of Obama’s existence, and his family (wife and spawn) despises him even more. And let’s all simply agree here and now to ignore Macho Boy Tagg Romney (if for no other reason than Honey Boo-Boo could take him).

    Bob, I have to admit I found Dennis Miller amusing for a while, but politics aside he’s just too self-conscious for me. He’s never really tried to illuminate some aspect of human existence, he’s just tried with all his might to dazzle everyone with his erudition (Look, look, I worked a Troilus and Cressida reference into a dick joke!), which gets old really quickly. And what he has to say about Mitt Romney is about as relevant as what the guy doing a dozen open-mic gigs a week has to say about the Large Hadron Collider.

    A sane conservative party would be welcome. As liberal as I am, I’d stand and cheer if such an entity came into being; on general principle, I’m uncomfortable with one-party rule. However, the current Republican Party isn’t sane and I’d rather have the Ds in charge of everything than let the Rs have access to a single lever of power.

      There’s no question that the Romneys, all of them, viscerally despise Obama. Obama doesn’t care forRomney much either, but the Romney clan’s “deep-seeded hatred” for the POTUS is palpable.

    Sheriff Arpaio’s Police State of Arizona under fire in U.S. 9th Cir. Court

    Arpaio’s thugs take the Arizona police state to a new, very criminal, high.

    Sworn court papers have been filed in two cases pending before the high federal appellate court in San Francisco detailing Arizona law enforcement’s willingness to engage in serious felonies to assist the Sheriff’s friends and to silence Arpaio critics. Arizona police have issued threats against civil litigation to protect Arpaio’s closest friend and top advisor (Justin Michael Nelson) from civil litigation – AKA Police Obstruction of Justice and Police Federal Civil Rights Crimes. (18 U.S.C. §§ 241, 242) Arizona police have conspired with Dignity Health of San Francicso to silence a well-known critic of Arpaio via violence – YES, attempted murder to be exact, now being covered up by Arpaio police state stooges. Sensational stuff, but, all on the appellate record, sworn and undisputed.

    Situation normal for Arizona, official felony crimes against the justice system and official crimes of violence to assist Arpaio and Arpaio’s cronies by threatening critics and foisting police sponsored violence against those in the “cross-hairs” of Arpaio’s Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Those with a knowledge of Arizona law enforcement and government should not be a surprised as to how the Arizona police state operates. The bold criminal conduct of police caught in these cases reveals the state of lawlessness existing in Arizona whereby law enforcement doesn’t even bother to cover-up their crimes satisfactorily. It is truly anything goes concerning police misconduct and outright police crime in Arizona.

      To be fair, a quick reading of those legal documents indicate that it was law enforcement from the City of Surprise who engaged in thuggery on behalf of Arpaio and his friends. So saying state law enforcement are also corrupt isn’t correct (in this case). There may be other evidence that proves state corruption in other cases, but I haven’t seen it.     That photo appears to capture the look on Romney’s face when he went after the President for the Rose Garden statement claim. I noticed it the first time; how he glared at the President and then raised his eyebrows like a school principal scolding a truant. Watch the video of that moment again. It creeped me out a bit.

      Graf, you’re right, I didn’t previously pay attention to Romney’s expression (being so engaged by the Presidents angry but laser focused gaze). It’s a rude, condescending expression…definitely something directs at a child or an underling, not the Pres of the U.S.

    Ironic that the President channeled Clint Eastwood better than good ol Clint himself could.
