Mitt Romney Wasted Tons of Campaign Cash

Remember the Romney video from the convention in which Tagg made a big deal out of the fact that Romney was frugal — so much so that instead of buying the correct lightbulb for the range, he slapped in a too-large bulb that blinded anyone who used the range, and then duct-taped a piece of tinfoil to block to light.

The takeaway? A totally ridiculous and wasteful solution (the larger bulb burned more energy than the price of a smaller more appropriate bulb).

Romney’s campaign spending worked the same way. Instead of spending money on the manpower to find the cheapest ad rates, Romney just hurled cash at TV stations and, consequently, spent more than double the Obama campaign spent for the same ad space.

Can you imagine what this guy would’ve done to the economy?

That’s hilarious. Good to see them soaking the stupid rich guy.

Why didn’t Romney just have his manservant or butler or porter or valet or footman change the light bulb? (Can you tell I watch Downton Abbey?)

Overall they didn’t spend double, they spent four times more. Geez, what a maroon!

    This makes me smile.

Liberal media conspiracy to charge Rmoney more, obviously.

Putting a dog on the top of his car.

The “hilarious” story about Mitt’s father being embarrassed by a marching band playing “On Wisconsin” because it reminded MI voters how he transferred jobs to WI.

Now the story of the energy-wasting bulb as the “frugal” solution.

I’m seeing a pattern in these anecdotes the Romneybot family is repeating. They honestly believe that these stories make Mitt and his family look more human and more like regular folks. When in fact, all they really do is reinforce the idea that this entire family is weird and out of touch with reality.

The only thing left of the U.S. economy by 2016 would have been boxes and boxes of those cartoon Mitt Romney pins from the 2002 Olympics.
