President Obama’s Victory Speech

Easily one of the top two or three best speeches of the president’s career — maybe the best victory speech in modern history.

The second inaugural will be something special.

“There is nothing more exhilarating,” Churchill once said, “than to be shot at without result.”–Lifted from New York Magazine, The Republicans Bet Everything, and Obama Won It All by Jonathan Chait via Huffington Post

This, to me, encapsulates the entire net result of the right wing’s assault on progressivism in general and the Democratic Party in particular during this election cycle. The GOP/Tea Party and their enablers threw all the bullshit they could muster at the wall and nothing stuck!

    How sweet is that?

It was a pure joy to watch the First Family come onto the stage last night!

Listening to President Obama’s speech, I felt so good that we had accomplished this, that not only did we elect a great man to the presidency for a second term, but we beat back the forces that would have turned this country into something unrecognizable and indescribably awful.

The schadenfreude feels damn righteous today!

adds…..and Nate Silver was right! Again.

Jeezus…When he speaks, I am inspired. Thank-you Mr. President.

That was one speech worth staying up late for.
