Refueling the Outrage Cortex

I’m taking a few days off from my usual daily column.

I love writing a longer-form piece every day, and I’m eternally grateful to The Daily Banter for making it possible, but after a tumultuous election season I need some time to fill up the tanks again. The thing I fear the most about writing so regularly is the possibility of getting stale or lazy about content, and I’d rather take some off-time now and then (this would be the second “break” of the year), rather than delivering half-assed material.

Put another way: I’m forcing myself to do this. There are definitely several things from the weekend that caught my attention, but I think I’ll stick with normal blog-length posts and swing back into essay-length material shortly.

While I eagerly await your daily post every morning, I say do what ya gotta do! Refueling every once and again is a good thing.

Besides, Mr. Brink seems to be poised to fill in the longer post vacuum!

    Good, you deserve a break.

    What IrishGrrrl said.

Personally, I think you’ve been tremendous, Bob.

    Holy-shit-tremendous!

I usually get to about Thursday, and actually say aloud, “I don’t know how the hell he keeps this up.” It’s been like watching the captain of a cruise ship do whatever it takes to save every last life in the world from drowning in boredom.

And it’s funny to me because your “breaks” still kick more ass in a day than a Donkey ninja.

Wear sunscreen and have a great time!

    You earned it, Bob!
