I went to get a sandwich yesterday and did not hear a single Christmas song. Stupid sharia war on Jesus! I’m not going back to that “deli”.

Also, I can’t remember the last time I heard anyone pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States, or even saw a simple flag pin.

And today it looks like nobody around here is celebrating Thanksgiving. Not again, they tell me.

A shocking lack of patriotism, no regard for tradition, and no recognition of a Christian-based America! Even here, in Canada!

    Thanks, Obama.

Likewise as a Canadian, I am both infuriated by the victory of the Muslim Socialist Communist Waterpoloist Barack Obama, and by his refusal to declare today a holiday in Canada as well.

So as petty revenge—erm, as a result of the rising costs of implementing Obamacare—I am forcing my employees to take the day off without pay.

Until we get rid of this guy who’s ruining our country, self-employed workers everywhere are going to suffer.

I’ll go you one better. Even though I don’t have a job, and I’m not sick, and even if I were sick I could just go see a doctor, which would be covered by OHIP, I (as sole employer of unemployed me) am absolutely refusing to pay for the healthcare that I am not using today.

Nor will I allow my taxes to cover the IE and welfare that I do not (and have never, and will not in the future) receive.

        Take that, socialists!

    Happy Day, Turkeys!!

errr, I mean, Happy Turkey Day, or, as we call it in Costa Rica, Thursday. Also, try explaining harvest festivals to people in the Tropics (where crops grow all year ’round).

Happy Thanksgiving to Bob, Chez, Ashby, mrbrink, and all the commenters. I am grateful for this community of fellow travelers… it is a welcome daily source of intelligence, humor, and solace.

A year and a half ago, near as makes no difference, I described this site as “our smart, funny, weird, slightly dysfunctional community.” I stand by that. I celebrate that. I am thankful for that.

Yes, even for the “slightly dysfunctional” bit.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Writing an essay about Shinto for a class. Family is in Denver and I’m in Johnson City, TN. Forgot to get some whiskey and ham yesterday because I had to work. Also ran out of milk.

Still life’s pretty good. Thankful that I have the opportunities I do in such a wonderful country. All my problems are first world ones and for that I’m grateful.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

“A man and his two children tried to kill me. After the turkeys hit the pavement, the crowd kind of scattered but some of them tried to attack me! I had to jam myself into a phone booth!”

Thank you for that update, multiple Buckeye Newshawk Award and Copper Cob Award winner, Les Nessman.

    Funniest holiday sitcom episode ever.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
