They Didn’t Fake It

    That…was…AWESOME!
I have a good friend who is a conspricary theorist. Rather, I should say she is fascinated by the mythology of it (she never actually said whether she bought into any of it). She would give me all sorts of literature about that latest thing from chemtrails to FEMA camps to Bilderburg meetings and yes, the faking of the Moon landing. The last one she told me of was that fossil fuels aren’t from long dead organic matter because the wells supposedly keep refilling.
One day I asked her what her or I are supposed to do with all of this information. She just kind of shrugged and smiled.
So while I find the mythology of conspiracy theories quite fascinating (some are pretty wild) I take them with a grain of salt because as the guy in the video said, there are other more important thing to focus on that really are affecting our lives.

The moon hoax people will react to this video by insisting that NASA got to SG Collins! and clinging even more desperately to their conspiracy theory.

William of Ockham (well, every philosopher and logician going back at least to Aristotle) has a sad.

Badastronomy.com has a great breakdown of the moon hoax nonsense. Here’s another one.

It’s important that we take a moment this week coming up to recognize three tragic anniversaries from space flight history; Sunday, Monday and Friday.

January 27, 1967 – Apollo-Saturn 204, unofficially designated Apollo 1, sits on the pad at Launch Complex 34 for a “plugs-out test,” a countdown rehearsal with all spacecraft systems running independently of the ground. Astronauts Virgil I. (“Gus”) Grissom, Edward H. White and Roger B. Chaffee are in the capsule, in a pressurized, pure oxygen atmosphere, working through the countdown routine when a flash fire breaks out. White and Grissom are unable to open the hatch due to the rapidly building pressure, and rescue teams cannot reach the capsule due to the heat. In less than a minute the cockpit is incinerated, and Grissom, White and Chaffee are all dead of asphyxiation.

January 28, 1986 – Space Shuttle Challenger is launched on mission 51-L, the 25th shuttle flight and the 10th for the fleet’s “workhorse” orbiter. On board are commander Francis R. (“Dick”) Scobee, pilot Michael Smith, mission specialists Ronald McNair, Judith Resnik and Ellison Onizuka, payload specialist Gregory Jarvis, and Sharon Christa McAuliffe, a schoolteacher from New Hampshire who was selected as NASA’s first “teacher in space.” 73 seconds after launch, a breach caused by a faulty O-ring in one of the solid rocket boosters causes a catastrophic failure of the external fuel tank; the tank explodes, and the orbiter disintegrates from aerodynamic forces. All seven astronauts perish.

February 1, 2003 – After 16 days in space, Space Shuttle Columbia de-orbits and prepares to land at the Kennedy Space Center to conclude mission STS-107. Unbeknownst to the crew, commander Rick Husband, pilot Willie McCool, astronauts Dr. Laurel Clark, Dr. Kalpana Chawla, Dave Brown, Mike Anderson, and the first Israeli astronaut IDF Col. Ilan Ramon, the orbiter’s left wing was struck during launch by a chunk of foam falling off the external fuel tank, critically damaging one of the RCC panels on the wing’s leading edge. During re-entry, hot gases penetrate the wing causing structural failure; the orbiter spins out of control and breaks apart over central Texas. All seven astronauts lose their lives.

“A shocking 11 percent of Americans believe the moon landing was faked.”

It’s called the dumbing down of America, so they’re probably Fox News viewers. In fact, I’m quite surprised they haven’t blamed Obama for the hoax. After all, if they believe that the President’s family knew, when he was in utero, that he would one day become POTUS and faked his birth certificate, it stands to reason that his mother sent her son to NASA when he was 8 yrs old so he could help them set up the hoax.

Stanley Kubrick would have faked an awesome moon landing. He would have taken thousands of stills and captured every angle of that goddamn fake moon.

We gave out moon rocks like cigars celebrating the birth of our new moon baby. You can’t fake a fucking moon rock. It’s scientific and shit.
