Moment of Derp

After Fox Business host Stuart Varney claimed that many elder patients would no longer be able to see the same doctors because they’ve been dropped by United Heathcare’s Medicare Advantage program, Fox & Friends host and person hired to make Kilmeade look smarter Elisabeth Hasslebeck claimed that many of those patients may be pregnant.

HASSELBECK: “And many of those people are women who are expecting babies and who may just have a real relationship with their physician and want to see the same doctor deliver possibly their second child and they are now left in the dark in a time that they feeling quite vulnerable.”

VARNEY: “Most of them are elderly.”

Most of them? Try all of them. This is a program for people over the age of 65.

It’s Obummer’s fault that United Healthcare has dropped doctors for pregnant women over 65, obviously.

The good news for co-host and Blue’s Clues flunkie Brian Kilmeade is that he no longer has the exclusive rights to Derp on Fox & Friends.

Well, that’s what you get when Viagra is covered under health insurance.

I love The Daily Banter and i love this piece. However, tiny correction. Medicare also covers people of any age who receive Social Security Disability for more than 2 years. Not SSI, they get medicaid, So, it is possible that a woman on Medicare could also be pregnant, but I kind of doubt its a burgeoning problem.

This is a great point. I know Medicare covers about 9 million people under the age of 65 who are disabled. I have no idea how many of these are women of child-bearing age, but it is conceivable that the number is not insignificant. Still, I think that leading with this argument is perhaps a non-starter and, in context, would probably not constitute “many.”

In the production meeting, Elisabeth Hasselback was told there would be a discussion of the horrors of Obamacare, so she had her talking point all teed up and ready to go. Pity it was the wrong talking point (this segment isn’t going in her updated audition reel, methinks).

Ashby, I think you’re selling Doocy the Weather Guy’s Derp potential short.

She could be the most unintentionally hilarious person on television. Always breathlessly reporting her delusional cage-crap at sunup– eating her hand in between the Doocy/Kilmeade Roxbury mash-up unable to resist the urge to spew everything she envisioned the night before while undergoing intensive electric-shock therapy.

Please, by all means, find me a disabled pregnant lady under the age of 65 on Medicare Advantage and then sign her up for the traveling circus because people will want to see this shit in person.
