Just when I thought those slimy cocksuckers at Fox News couldn’t sink any lower. Bastards…

Like all “conservative” opinion commentary these days, that editorial is just dripping with resentment; it oozes from the pores of every word.

    Take this passage for example:

But Francis is beating a retreat for the Catholic Church, and making sure its controversial doctrines are whispered, not yelled – no wonder the New York Times is in love.

Just like President Obama loved apologizing for America, Pope Francis likes to apologize for the Catholic Church, thinking that the Church is at its best when it is passive and not offending anyone’s sensibilities.

In his interviews with those in the left-wing media he seeks to impress, Francis has said that the Church needs to stop being ‘obsessed’ with abortion and gay marriage…”

Consider how much of that language is just completely unnecessary to the writer’s making his point. Again:

But Francis is beating a retreat for the Catholic Church, and making sure its controversial doctrines are whispered, not yelled – no wonder the New York Times is in love.

Just like President Obama loved apologizing for America, Pope Francis likes to apologize for the Catholic Church, thinking that the Church is at its best when it is passive and not offending anyone’s sensibilities.

In his interviews with those in the left-wing media he seeks to impress, Francis has said that the Church needs to stop being ‘obsessed’ with abortion and gay marriage…”

    Why not:

They’re all victims, didn’t you know?

Why not? Because your preferred version doesn’t blow the dog whistles loudly enough (gotta get the marks all worked up).

Well, of course, that’s the point.

What I find so remarkable about so much conservative writing is this insatiable need they have to throw in completely unnecessary digs at the people and groups they resent, often invoking their caricatures of such people and groups.

One former friend/acquaintance of mine, in a purportedly non-political “book” he “wrote” about the education system [whose content thoroughly contradicted its title, BTW], discussing No Child Left Behind, describing the signing/presentation ceremony involving President Bush and Senator Kennedy, felt the need to refer to the latter as “the noted drunkard and all-around curmudgeon” without making any parallel references to the former’s well-documented alcoholism.

        They can’t help themselves.

      APOLOGY TOUR!!

Seems like a conflict of interest for the simpletons on Fox, how can you love the baby Jesus and hate on the Pope.

    • Christopher Foxx

how can you love the baby Jesus and hate on the Pope.

The same way they claim to love America, but hate Americans. To value the Constitution above all, while advocating for every un-Constitutional action they can.

It’s that they don’t love America. And they don’t value the Constitution.

“how can you love the baby Jesus and hate on the Pope”

You’re going from a false premise. They don’t love the baby Jesus.

      • Zen Diesel

Agreed, they are nothing more than grifters who have realized they can make a fortune by pretending to be primitive fake outrage screech monkeys. They know the sheeple “especially the ones who will never get over the guy with a darker tan being President”, will unconditionally follow, and believe any piece of bullshit they crap from their ass. I am so sick of those self righteous assholes over at Fox Nation.

They don’t love the baby Jesus.

        Indeed, they only love themselves.

          And money.

    • Brutlyhonest

Every fundamentalist knows that Catholics aren’t “real” Christians..

      • D_C_Wilson

This is actually pretty serious. The fundamentalist community has had common ground with conservative Catholics like Rick Santorum and Bobby Jindal. If this constant dissing of the pope continues, they could be looking at a major schism in their political alliance.

        Well, we can hope.
