The Hits Keep Coming

As Bob predicted in this week’s mailbag, Chris Christie may end up getting nailed for something not even related to the George Washington Bridge closure.

According to emails and testimony corroborated by public records, the governor’s office denied Hurricane Sandy relief funds to the city of Hoboken in a series of events that reads like extortion.

Two senior members of Gov. Chris Christie’s administration warned a New Jersey mayor earlier this year that her town would be starved of hurricane relief money unless she approved a lucrative redevelopment plan favored by the governor, according to the mayor and emails and personal notes she shared with msnbc.

The mayor, Dawn Zimmer, hasn’t approved the project, but she did request $127 million in hurricane relief for her city of Hoboken – 80% of which was underwater after Sandy hit in October 2012. What she got was $142,000 to defray the cost of a single back-up generator plus an additional $200,000 in recovery grants.

Ironically, congressional Republicans may have been right about Hurricane Sandy relief, but not in the way they thought. It’s not those immoral liberals, frauds, or welfare queens abusing the system, it’s their Republican Governor Chris Christie. Christie should be held fully responsible for this.

Dawn Zimmer is not the only mayor that has alleged mistreatment related to Hurricane Sandy relief funds.

… according to the mayor and emails and personal notes she shared with msnbc.

How stupid do you have to be to document your shakedown in emails?

      You’d be surprised.

And how stupid do you have to be to not make them public when they first occurred?

  • missliberties

The GOP would never use govt $$$ as a political slush fund, because they are conservative and the constitution!!11!!

Christie’s hat size is larger than his waist.

Eairler today Christie’s Lt Govenor’s office released a statement claiming that Mayor Zimmer had previously praised the Christie administration for their work with her. Then, later today the other official that Mayor Zimmer said had told her about getting the Sandy funds if she approved the development project released a similar statement about how she praised the Govenor for working with her. In both statements, neither bothered to explain why her city only got $300,000 dollars after she requested $127 million. So, I just read a new bullshit statement released by Christie’s attack dog Colin Reed blasting Mayor Zimmer and claiming that the City of Hoboken has already been “approved for nearly $70 million dollars while using the same “she’s previously praised the Govenor” line and trashing MSNBC so, here’s my question. When was Christie’s administration going to tell Mayor Zimmer that she had been approved for the $70 million? Mayor Zimmer repeatedly contacted them and like my Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, never got a response. In that statement Reed also claims that she would get even more funds when the Obama administration releases the next round of funding but, here’s the thing; Another Mayor, Brian Stack, who endorsed Christie received $2.9 million dollars to repair a specific road way in his city (Union City) that isn’t even used to get to the George Washington Bridge. Christie is a fraud and he’s totally done.

Sorry for the long post guys but, my point is that Union City got $2.9 million and didn’t suffer the amount of damage that Hoboken, Dawn Zimmer’s city did. Hoboken was 80% under water after Sandy. Does it make sense to any of you that the guy who didn’t suffer anywhere near the damage gets $2.9 million while the city that was 80% under water got just $342,000 dollars? Like I said, Christie is finished!

Channelling the stupidity of the defenders of the Christie, I would say that MSNBC and the mayor made it all up, Christie is a fine leader unlike that guy illegitimate guy in the White House ” have you heard how he has been covering up Benghazi”

Well, now wonder Christie was so willing to be nice to Obama after Sandy struck. He needed Obama to send him the money that Christie needed to use for extortion.
