Obama’s Fault

One of the key reasons — perhaps the biggest reason — the Iraqi government and the United States could not reach a consensus on a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) prior to our withdrawal from Iraq is because the al-Maliki administration was unwilling to take the political risk of granting legal immunity to US troops.

That’s well-documented history, but according to Senators John McCain (R) and James Inhofe (R) this is all Obama’s fault.

“It’s interesting that [immunity’s] OK now when, according to their narrative, it was impossible to get before,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). [...]

He added that the reversal on the issue is “all part of this tissue of lies” that the administration gave for not securing a status of forces agreement with Baghdad in 2011 including a residual troop presence. [...]

“I’d been much happier if we had not dropped all of them out in the first place,” said Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), the ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Committee. “Now it’s easy to say, ‘All right, now are you happy?’ No.”

ThanksObama

To anyone who doesn’t have their head jammed firmly up their ass, it’s easy to see what’s really going on here.

When al-Maliki was under political pressure to do so, he decided against granting legal immunity to US troops. But now that his administration and the country itself is directly threatened, Maliki and his allies are ready to do whatever it takes.

John McCain and James Inhofe are blaming President Obama for the actions of Iraqi lawmakers.

Of course this isn’t necessarily a surprise. A little more than a week ago James Inhofe said the president is intentionally “supporting the enemy.”

McCain and Inhofe also aren’t alone. The conservative entertainment complex have been hot on the case of blaming Obama.

Hey, it must be hard to not only lose to a black guy, but to lose to a black guy whose middle name is Hussein!

They’re betting that the majority of Americans are ignorant on this particular issue and that the media won’t inform them of what the facts are. It’s a safe bet on their part.

It sure is a safe bet! As far as I am the Beltway media act as a propaganda outfit of the Republican party.
